The future is what we make it.
Small actions can make huge differences.
- Do something you think might just help change the world for the better, no matter how insignificant you think your efforts might be. Throughout history it has always been a tiny minority of people that helped it begin!
- Boycott Murdoch’s dehumanising media - we’ll only achieve this through organisation. It needs charm, style (if you can face those words after Blair), understanding and a business card with just one URL to give to anyone you see with a satellite dish or buying a paper, or even accepting his free london paper. One URL could present in great clarity who Murdoch is, what he’s done, what he owns and how much he cares about you and your family - if you’re up for helping email me.
- Make a pledge on PledgeBank
- Write to your local MP and give ‘em hell over their war crimes, their short comings, their cowardice compliance and their short-term policies. If they do something good I’m sure they like nice letters too.
- Join the Consumer Revolution
- Give Blood and Register as an organ donor
- Put your money to good use. Unless you’ve checked if your pension fund is ethically invested, chances are you’re supporting the arms industry and companies with poor human and environmental records.
- Recycle your Computer, Mobile Phone and your Specs to wonderful effect
- Volunteer:
- best way is to do this is without the government setup or funded debilitating middle man organisation. Offer your help in person. Volunteering for non-profit or charitable organisations works against privatisation, is it really in their belief system to help volunteering?
- locally via do-it.org.uk (this is just a government middleman organisation and we recommend when you apply online follow up your application directly with those to whom you applied) alternatively try timebank or CSV
- internationally via Volunteering England, VSO, Oxfam, teaching abroad
- from home
- Spend time with someone from a different generation. They know cool stuff you don’t.
- Have the web help your fundraising via JustGiving, eFundraising or FunderFinder
- Report dumped rubbish to your local council
- Consider an ethical career
- Find a charity event or a run
- Refuse carrier bags whenever possible
- Try and limit your car use walk, cycle, car share, video or telephone conference, work from home, check out this car sharing club
