In recent years we’ve never been in a better position to buy fair trade, invest ethically, be aware of how the things we consume are produced and we’re beginning to use this power (apparently 52% of us are switching brands1).

In both our personal and business consumption we could all be trying to buy fairly traded, environmentally friendly products, as directly from the producer as possible (i.e. from farmers markets) and we need to recognise our spending not just as spending, but as investing.

Here’s a list from PCS on how you can help fair trade efforts, and Oxfam’s Ethical Purchasing Policy and Friends of the earth’s answer to the question how can i use the supermarket less.
